Who we are
Daily Spark ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website and service at spark-me-up.com. We deliver personalised, AI-generated motivational messages to subscribers each morning, by email or — if you opt in — by text message.

What data we collect
We collect only what we need to provide the service:
- Account information: Your name and email address when you sign up.
- Phone number (optional): If you opt into text-message delivery, your mobile phone number and a record of your opt-in consent (date and the method you used to opt in). You can remove your number or switch back to email at any time.
- Delivery preferences: Your chosen delivery channel (email or text), preferred send time, timezone, philosophical tradition, and tone.
- Feedback: Ratings, mindset notes, and written feedback you send by replying to emails.
- Message history: A log of every email we have sent you, used to avoid repetition and improve personalisation.
- Billing information: Your subscription status and Stripe customer ID. We do not store card numbers — Stripe handles all payment data directly.
- Usage data: Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps). These are retained for 30 days for security purposes only.
How we use your data
We use your data solely to operate Daily Spark:
- To generate and deliver your personalised daily message at your chosen time.
- To improve the personalisation of future messages based on your feedback.
- To manage your subscription and process payments.
- To respond to support requests.
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except the processors listed below who help us run the service.
SMS non-sharing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data, consent, and related personal information will not be shared with any third parties unless required by law or necessary to deliver SMS services.
Third-party processors
We share data with the following services to deliver Daily Spark. Each is bound by its own privacy policy and, where applicable, a Data Processing Agreement with us.
Supabase — Database and authentication
All account data is stored in Supabase-managed PostgreSQL in the US (AWS us-east-1).
Supabase Privacy Policy ↗SendGrid (Twilio) — Email delivery
Your email address and the content of each daily message are transmitted to SendGrid for delivery. Email replies are forwarded back to us via SendGrid Inbound Parse.
SendGrid (Twilio) Privacy Policy ↗Twilio — Text message (SMS) delivery
If you opt into text delivery, your mobile phone number and the content of each daily message are transmitted to Twilio for SMS delivery. Text replies (including STOP and HELP) are forwarded back to us via a Twilio webhook. Your number is used only to deliver the messages you requested and is not shared for marketing.

Your name, email, and billing details are shared with Stripe to process subscription payments. We never see or store your card number.

Your preferences, feedback summary, and anonymised profile data are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your daily message. We do not send your name or email to Anthropic.

Personal information collected by Daily Spark is securely stored in accordance with current industry standards and is not accessible to third parties or to our personnel except for the uses indicated in this policy. Data is held in Supabase-managed PostgreSQL in the United States and transmitted over encrypted connections.
Your choices
You can control how we contact you and what data we hold at any time:
- Opt out of emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in any message.
- Opt out of text messages by replying STOP to any text. Reply HELP, or email us, for assistance.
- Change your delivery channel (email or text), send time, or other preferences from your dashboard.
- Request, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you — see "Your rights" below, or contact us.

Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Specifically:
- Account and preference data is kept until you delete your account.
- Message history and feedback are kept for the life of your account to support personalisation.
- When you delete your account, all data is permanently erased within 30 days from all systems, including backups.
- Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics (no personally identifiable information) may be retained indefinitely.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or California, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Cookies and tracking
Daily Spark does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. We use a single session token stored in your browser's local storage to keep you logged in. No data is shared with ad networks.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
